PURPOSE: To reduce power consumption by providing a laminated piezoelectric actuator element at one end of a lock shaft for driving the lock shaft, and transmitting drive pulses from a drive circuit, thus driving the actuator element.
CONSTITUTION: This drive has a lock part 3 comprising a pair of mutually engaging lock shafts 1, 2 and a laminated piezoelectric actuator element 4 secured to the shaft 1, the shaft 1 being oscillated about a fulcrum 1A. A drive circuit connected to a pulse generator is added to the element 4. If a number setting means part provides a number that coincides with a predetermined numerical value, pulses are transmitted from a pulse generating circuit to the drive circuit, which in turn outputs driving pulses to the element 4, thus rotating the left end of the shaft 1 in A direction and releasing the lock part 3. Therefore, power consumption can be reduced.
