Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive support system for monitoring the wakefulness of a driver when switching from an automatic driving to a manual driving, and switching to the manual driving in the case of a wakefulness allowing the manual driving.SOLUTION: A drive support system 1 includes a drive control apparatus 3 for switching between an automatic drive mode 7 and a manual drive mode 9 and executing an automatic driving in the automatic drive mode. Further, the drive control apparatus 3 includes: an automatic drive difficulty prediction part 41 for predicting an occurrence of an automatic drive difficulty situation during an automatic driving; a wakefulness determination part 45 for determining a wakefulness of driver 14 before the occurrence of a predicted automatic drive difficulty situation after the automatic drive difficulty prediction part has predicted; a wakefulness improvement part 47 for improving a wakefulness by illuminating the driver with light in the state of the wakefulness being uncertain; and a manual drive switchover part 49 for switching from the automatic drive mode to manual drive mode in the case of the wakefulness determination part determining a wakefulness.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
