To avoid weight increasing of a harness or remarkable generation of a Joule heat even if large current flows to a power supply line.
In a drive system for a vehicle, a cooling means 4 has a thermal insulator 41 for a cold insulation, a refrigerant circulator 42, and a refrigerant supply unit 43. The thermal insulator 41 covers a superconducting motor 1 and the power supply line 3, and a space 41a covered with the thermal insulator 41 is cooled by the refrigerator circulated by the refrigerant circulator 42. Thus, the field coil 1a and the power supply line 3 provided in the superconducting motor 1 become a superconducting state. Since the power supply line 3 is in the superconducting state, even if the large current flows to this, generating Joule heat can be much reduced. In addition, the radius of the power supply line 3 is not thickened, and hence the weight of the harness is not increased as well.
