Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce power consumption by reducing the iron loss of a motor while furthermore reducing the copper loss and the saturation of a switching element by decreasing the motor current.
CONSTITUTION: A driver for a brushless motor 1 including a rotor 4 having a permanent magnet and a stator 3 having windings 2U, 2V, 2W for a plurality of phases comprises transistors 10-15 for conducting the windings 2U, 2V, 2W sequentially at a timing corresponding to the position of the rotor 4, and a control circuit 32 for turning the transistors 10-15 ON/OFF to feed the winding 2U, 2V, 2W with a PWM sine wave voltage.
