PURPOSE: To realize a driver for electric vehicle by which highly reliable operation can be sustained stably, even upon malfunction of power converting means and in which adverse effect of current ripple can be suppressed without increasing the size and failed component can be replaced easily.
CONSTITUTION: The driver for electric vehicle comprises a plurality of power converting means 102 for feeding power independently to the winding of a driving power generating means 103 in an electric vehicle, and a database 106 for determining the combination of sound power converting means 102 upon failure of any one power converting means 102. The data base 106 stores information relating to the operational combination of the plurality of power converting means 102 for driving the driving power generating means 103 stably and determines a combination of the power converting means 102 to be operated. A correction is prepared based on the internal model of the driving power generating means 102 and the influence of disturbance on the output is fed back while being multiplied specifically. The power generating means 103 and a cooling means is shared between them.
