To provide a driving assist device which enables an occupant to properly handle an event caused in a vehicle by external factors, and to provide a driving assist method.SOLUTION: A driving assist device according to one embodiment includes a detection part, a determination part, and a presentation part. The detection part detects an event caused in a vehicle by external factors. The determination part determines matters which should be handled by an occupant of a vehicle according to the detected event.
