Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a battery capable of dealing with an output demand in the wide range of a low load to a high load by compensating for the weak point of a secondary battery or a normal temperature type fuel cell as battery for an electric car.
CONSTITUTION: A d.c. power supply is constituted of a power battery 2 a secondary battery and connected to an electric motor and an energy battery 1 comprising a fuel cell and connected in parallel to the power battery 2 through an energy battery control switch. A booster circuit 7 is controlled on the basis of the current or the voltage of one of the power battery 2, the energy battery 1 and an electric motor 14, and a battery current/voltage control means for maintaining the voltage of the d. c. power supply within a predetermined range and a charging control means by which the charging from the energy battery to the power battery 2 is performed when a key switch 15 is turned off and the charging quantity of the power battery 2 is not more than a predetermined value and the charging is stopped when the charging quantity is larger than the predetermined value are provided.
