PURPOSE: To improve the responsiveness to an objective lens by providing the objective lens for condensing a light beam, and a track direction driving coil for driving this objective lens in the roughly vertical direction against the track direction, and also, impressing a voltage by a parallel connection, on an information storage medium having a recording track.

CONSTITUTION: An objective lens 1 for condensing a light beam, and a track direction driving coil 4 for driving this objective lens 1 in the roughly vertical direction against the track direction are provided on an information recording medium having a recording track. In this state, a voltage is impressed across the track direction driving coil 4. In this way, by a simple change of wiring, a driving force against the voltage impressed across the track coil 4 increases, the responsiveness is improved by a power source of a low voltage, and also, a track access speed can be increased.
