To provide a driving device capable of improving energy efficiency of a vehicle.
The driving device 1 for a vehicle includes a motor generator 2 as a driving source. The device further includes a torque converter 6 which is installed on a power transmission path between the motor generator 2 and a driving wheel 8. The torque converter 6 has an engaging member 15 which is installed so as to integrally rotate with an output part 10 and switches between an engaging state where the torque converter connects to an input part 9 and a releasing state where the connection is released. In addition, the torque converter includes a normal-close type lock-up clutch 14 in which the engaging member 15 switches to the engaging state when not being controlled.
