Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost liquid crystal device by making it possible to display and inspect all the display areas of the liquid crystal panel at the time of inspecting the display characteristics of the liquid crystal panel and surely eliminating a defective liquid crystal panel at the time of packaging a driving IC.
SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device 11 is formed by mounting the driving IC 11 at the liquid crystal panel 5. The liquid crystal panel 5 has plural electrodes Psi formed on a transparent substrate 2a, plural scanning electrodes Pso formed on a transparent substrate 2b and an IC mounting region B set on the transparent substrate 2a. The signal electrodes Psi and the scanning electrode Pso extend to the IC mounting region G. The driving IC 11 has bumps Bso for the scanning electrodes conducted and connected to the scanning electrodes Pso and bumps Bsi for the signal electrodes conducted and connected to the signal electrodes Psi. Wide spacings A are formed between the adjacent bumps Bso for the scanning electrodes and bumps Bsi for the signal electrodes.
