To prevent looseness of a cable on a driving mechanism of a seat for a vehicle and to prevent enlargement of a motor unit mounted below the seat.
The motor unit 3 is mounted on a lower surface of the seat 2 provided on a parallel rail 1 free to move, an intermediate part of a cable 7 is wound around a rotating drum 6 rotationally driven by a motor 4 of the motor unit 3 roughly by one round, both side parts drawn out from the rotating drum of the cable are guided by each of outer cables 8a, 8b, introduced to one of the rails by externally surrounding the motor unit and crossing with each other and drawn around to reach the both end parts along the rail. This driving mechanism is connected to the both end parts of the rail respectively through tensile force generators 9. It is possible to reduce the number of parts mounted on a place where it is difficult to take an arranging space wide like the lower surface of the seat and to improve a lay-out property of the driving mechanism of the seat as the tensile force generators are arranged on the both end parts.
