The electro-optical device includes an irradiation step for irradiating in a time-division manner a display region having a plurality of pixel sections with a plurality of the light having the color tones varying from each other, a conversion step 120a for converting input grayscale data (NR, NG, NB) for a plurality of light to each of the plurality of the pixel sections to output grayscale data (n1, n2, n3, n4, n5) formed for a plurality of fields by being divided so as to make frames greater in number than the times of the light emission periods relating to the plurality of the light and to make frames continue on a time axis, and a supply step for successively supplying converted output grayscale data to each of the pixel sections for a plurality of fields.
