Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent a CMOS transfer gate from being turned ON by mistake and discharged when a pixel is not selected by limiting the condition of signal potentials, etc., of data lines and gate lines based on the threshold voltage of an NMOS or PMOS.
CONSTITUTION: The NMOS and PMOS of each pixel are connected to the same gate line Xn and the drains of the PMOS and NMOS are connected to a data line Ym. The potential VD applied to the data line Ym ranges from VD1 to VD2 (VD1≤VD≤VD2) and -Vth(N)<VD1 ≤VD≤VD2<Vth(P) holds, where the voltage of the gate line Xn in nonselection mode is 0, Vth(N) is the threshold voltage of the NMOS of a CMOS transfer gate circuit, and Vth(P) is the threshold voltage of the PMOS. Strictly under the condition, an image of high quality which is free from crosstalk can be displayed.
