Abstract:
To ensure that the driver of a vehicle behind that does not have a driving assistance function based on traffic light information is not forced to have a feeling of discomfort by motion of the host vehicle ahead.SOLUTION: A driving assistance device 10 comprises: an information acquisition part 21 for acquiring traffic light information that includes traffic light switching information, position information that represents the position of the host vehicle relative to a traffic light, and rearward vehicle information that includes the length information of a vehicle behind; a length calculation part 22 for calculating the overall length from the front edge of the host vehicle to the rear edge of the vehicle behind during traveling, on the basis of the acquired length information of the vehicle behind; a driving derivation part 23 for deriving, on the basis of the traffic light information, position information and overall length, driving assistance information that includes the target vehicle speed or target acceleration of the host vehicle in order for all vehicles including the host vehicle and the vehicle behind to pass through or stop just before a point where a traffic light is installed; and an output part 25 for transmitting host vehicle information that includes that the host vehicle has a driving assistance function by which driving assistance information is derived, to the vehicle behind via a communication unit 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
