To provide a driving support system capable of detecting that the volume of sound collected inside a compartment becomes large instantaneously for utilizing in driving support.
The driving support system 1 has a sound recognition processing section 2 for collecting the sound inside the compartment for detecting noise whose volume becomes large instantaneously, and a driving support section 3 for calculating the degree of risk based on a risk factor to execute the driving support. The sound recognition processing section 2 comprises a microphone 21 for collecting the sound inside the compartment; a sound volume measurement section 22 for measuring the volume of the collected sound; an average value calculation section 23 for calculating the average value of the measured sound at a prescribed interval; a memory 24 for recording the calculated average value; and a comparison determination section 25 for comparing the average value recorded in the memory 24 with the collected sound to determine the risk factor.
