PURPOSE: To actuate a coin mechanism of a public telephone with a small amount of electric power consumption, by using an auxiliary power supply consisting of a capacitor which is charged plus and minus with transmission of a control pulse.
CONSTITUTION: A power supply 1 set at the station side has plus and minus polarities and supplies electric power to each part. A constant current circuit 2 supplies charging currents of plus and minus systems at a constant level in order to form an auxiliary power supply 3 of plus and minus polarities. Thus the power supply 3 is well charged for application after a fixed period from the starting time point. Then a control signal CS1 or CS2 is transmited from a control circuit 9 via a selection switch 10 to actuate a part 6 to be driven and having different operations in response to conduction of a plus or minus current. Then a plus side driving circuit 4 or a minus side driving circuit 5 is controlled. These circuits 4 and 5 are used to secure a large constant current for a certain period when the part 6 is actuated. Thus the plus and minus current operations are possible.
