To suppress the transpiration of moisture from a drug dissolving liquid and to assure an energizing property over a long period of time by incorporating a moisture retaining agent into the dissolving liquid for dissolving the drug of an interface (skin contact body) for iontophoresis.
This drug dissolving liquid is used to allow the percutaneous transmission of the drugs, such as physiologically active peptide or protein, non-peptidic physiologically active compd. or nucleic acid, etc., by iontophoresis by using the interface composed of a porous matrix holding the drugs. The moisture retaining agent formed by using at least one kind selected from polyhydric alcohol, alcohol, sugar amino acid and acidic mucopolysaccharides is incorporated into such dissolving liquid. Polyhydric alcohol having 2 to 4 pieces of hydroxyl groups in the molecule and more adequately glycerol are used for such polyhydric alcohol. Further, amino acid having nitrogenous heterocycles and amino acid having nonarom. nitrogenous 5-membered heterocycles are preferably used as the moisture retaining agent.
