Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the drum brake which can function as the DS brake when used as the parking brake and also can function as the LT or similar brake when used for the constant use. CONSTITUTION:When the force in the arrow A direction is given to the parking lever 27 to widen the space between the upper ends of the shoes 4a,4b when parking, the drum 1 of the bicycle, for instance, parked on the downhill is supplied with the anticlockwise force which is also given to the shoes 4a,4b mentioned above. Therefore, the rotating force of the shoe 4a is conveyed to the shoe 4b through the link 8 and received by the piston 11b. That is, the drum brake functions as DS (duo-servo type) brake. On the other hand, it functions as LT(leading trailing type) brake when pressurized oil from the oil hydraulic pressure source is given to the cylinders 3,12.
