A peripheral wall formed with spin-drying holes by drawing and punching is formed into a polygonal tubular body, and rolled edges are formed on the upper and lower peripheral edges in this manufacturing method for the drum of the spin-drying tub of the washing machine. Drawing and punching are applied to the flat plate 14 for the drum in continuous processes, then it is formed into a cylinder by roll molding, and end sections are connected to form a cylindrical body. Flanges are formed at the upper and lower peripheral edges of the cylindrical body, then the flanges are rounded to form rolled edges, and the whole peripheral wall of the cylindrical body is formed into a polygonal tubular body as the drum.
