To provide a drum type washing and drying machine preventing a valve element from sticking to a valve holder while preventing the backflow of wet air in drying, and restraining a leakage of sound to the outside of the machine in a washing step and a spinning step and furthermore extending a service life of the valve element itself.
The valve element 22 provided at a connecting tube 19 serving for communication between the inside of an outer tub 3 and a detergent case 14 is urged always in a closing direction to the inner end face 25 side of the valve holder 24 and locked at its upper end. The valve holder 24 has an upper surface section 25a and a lower surface section 25b, and the upper end of the upper surface section 25a coming in close contact with the valve element 22 is located on the detergent case 14 side more than the lower end, while the lower end of the lower surface section 25b is located on the detergent case 14 side more than the upper end to form a surface smoothly continuous from the upper surface section 25a toward the lower surface section 25b. A clearance 27 is thereby formed between the valve element 22 and the lower surface section 25b of the valve holder 24.
