To achieve high performance through an increased air flow and an increased static pressure by extending an entrance length in a suction port connected in a sealed state to an air-conditioning unit without enlargement of the air-conditioning unit and a blower fan.
In a drum-type washing and drying machine, a rotary drum 2 is installed in a water tub 3 so as to lie horizontally or to be tilted downward toward the rear. The machine performs the steps of washing, rinsing, dewatering and drying. In the drying step, an air-conditioning/blowing unit 81 installed in the rear of the water tub 3 is used for sucking air in the water tub 3 to generate dry high-temperature air and then blowing this air into the water tub 3. In the machine, a suction port 15c of a spiral casing 15b has an outer periphery projecting to the side of an air-conditioning case 38 and is connected in a sealed state to the air-conditioning case 38 around the outer periphery via a seal member 104. The suction port 15c has an inner periphery forming a bell-mouth part 15c2 opening to the side of a suction/exhaust port 392 to which the suction is applied from a blower fan 15 of the air-conditioning case 38.
