Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a drum type washing machine capable of suppressing movement of rolling bodies in an annular container within a range of stable rotational frequency, and capable of suppressing the vibration of a drum during rotation low, even when there is temperature variation.SOLUTION: A drum type washing machine includes: a drum 3 supported by a rotary shaft 14 rotatable around a horizontal or inclined drum shaft; an annular container 81 disposed in the drum 3; a ball balancer 8 having balls 9 capable of moving in the annular container 81, and a viscous liquid 23 sealed in the annular container 81, and reducing vibration caused by unbalance; and a driving motor 12 for rotationally driving the drum 3. The ball balancer 8, in the annular container 81, includes a projection 11 configured in such a manner that an area of a projection A surface 11A in a travelling direction and an area of a projection B surface 11B in a direction opposite from the travelling direction are different. Thereby, even in temperature variation, stable control of the balls 9 can be performed at low-speed rotational frequency, and detection of an unbalanced state and low vibration control at start-up time can be performed.
