Abstract:
To provide a highly reliable washing machine in which the position of a latching hook is maintained constant irrespective of the dimensional unevenness of components constituting a lid body and therefore force for releasing the lid body from hook receiving means can be maintained constant.SOLUTION: A drum type washing machine is provided that includes: a housing; an inner tub in which clothing is housed; a lid body 7 which is provided in the housing and journaled in such a manner that it is openable/closable at a predetermined angle with respect to the housing from a closed position to a full-open position, and which opens and closes an input port where clothing is put in/taken out; and lid body latching means latching the lid body 7 at the closed position. The lid body latching means includes: a latching hook journaled in a spindle in a freely oscillatable manner; and hook receiving means to be engaged with the latching hook. The drum type washing machine further includes hook journaling means capable of moving the latching hook in a direction perpendicular to the spindle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
