To improve a defoaming effect and to prevent the increase of the quantity of water.

A circulation path 10 consists of: a water path 28 whose one end part is connected to a drain port not shown in the figure of a water reserving part 8; a branch pipe 29 connected to the other end part of the water path 28; a circulation pump 30 connected to one water exit of this branch pipe 29; and a water supply path 31 whose one end part is connected to the discharging port of the circulation pump 30 and the other end part of which is connected to a connection pipe part 32 formed at the upper part of a water tank 4. A controller not shown in the figure drives the circulation pump 30 when the occurrence of foam is detected by a foam occurrence detector not shown in the figure in a washing process of rotating the drum 5 forward and backward.
