When a soft washing course is set in the drum type washing machine, washing and rinsing are executed in the washing and rinsing processes with the axis of rotation of the rotary drum in the inclined state, and centrifugal dewatering is executed in the dewatering process with the axis of rotation of the rotary drum in the horizontal state. When a standard washing course is set, washing is executed in the washing process with the axis of rotation of the rotary drum in the horizontal state, rinsing is executed in the rinsing process with the axis of rotation of the rotary drum in the inclined state, and centrifugal dewatering is executed in the dewatering process with the axis of rotation of the rotary drum in the horizontal state.
