To provide an analyzing element measurable at high analysis accuracy without mordanting even when an indictor is water soluble, by including it in a developing layer.
As a basic structure of an analyzing element, a water permeable layer and a porous developing layer are laminated in this order on a water permeable transparent support body. The porous developing layer is a layer having a function of expanding components contained in an aqueous specimen flatly without substantial deflection, and supplying them to the water permeable layer at a rate of almost constant amount per unit area. As the developing layer used for a dry chemistry analyzing element, all porous material of wellknown non-fabric material and fabric material can be used. For detail, they are a non-fabric isotropic micro porous medium layer represented by a membrane filter, a non-fabric porous layer represented by continuous clearance containing three-dimensional lattice structure layers that are adhered in a point contact shape via a water non-swelling adhesive, and a layer comprising knit fabric cloths.
