Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dry toner with which high image quality can be stably obtained even when the toner is used in a low humidity or high humidity environment and image defects are not produced with time or when the toner is left to stand.
SOLUTION: The toner contains at least a binder resin, a coloring agent, a release agent and an organic metal compound. The mol.wt. distribution of the toner measured by GPC shows at least one peak in the region of 3×103 to 3×104 mol.wt. and moreover, at least one peak in the region of 1×105 to 5×106. The organic metal compound is an aluminum compound of benzilic acid expressed by formula (1) without substituted or having substituents. In the formula, R1 and R2 may be same or different and each represents a substituent selected from a group of straight-chain or branched alkyl groups, alkenyl groups, alkoxy groups, halogen atoms, nitro groups, cyano groups, amino groups, carboxyl groups and hydroxyl groups, and each of m and n is an integer 0 to 5.
