To obtain a dryer canvas for papermaking reduced in rigidity, enhanced in flexibility, suppressed in cause of flex fatigue, and prolonged in usable life, by arranging polyester monofilaments having an elliptical cross-sectional shape in warp yarns and weaving a single ply plain woven fabric.

This dryer canvas for papermaking is obtained by arranging polyester monofilaments having an elliptical cross-sectional shape in warp yarns and using polyester monofilaments having 0.6-1.2 mm diameter in weft yarns and weaving a single ply plain woven fabric having 4-15 yarns/2.54 cm density of the warp and weft yarns. The resultant dryer canvas for papermaking has ≥35,000 cc/min/cm2 air permeability.
