Abstract:
To solve such a problem that cockling occurs when heating a medium by contact heating.SOLUTION: A dryer 104 comprises: a medium heating member 121A which has a contact surface with a prescribed curvature contacting a surface opposite to a surface formed with an image of a medium 110, and which heats the medium 110 in a state of being curved following the contact surface with the contact surface in contact with the surface opposite to the surface formed with the image of the medium 110 formed with the image; and a contact member 121B which contacts the medium 110 in the state of being curved following the contact surface by contacting the surface opposite to the surface formed with the image of the medium 110 formed with the image. The medium is conveyed while changing the conveyance direction such that the surface on the opposite side of the medium 110 follows the contact surface of the medium heating member 121A and the surface on the opposite side of the medium 110 contacts the contact surface of the contact member 121B to be contacted next.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 22
