Abstract:
PURPOSE: To eliminate the deviation of shrinkage extent in the central part and both ends of a paper and obtain a homogeneous paper by respectively arranging a drying promoting means at both ends of a contact part of a dryer roll with a wet web and a drying suppressing means in an open draw part.
CONSTITUTION: This dryer for a paper machine is obtained by providing air gaps 8 over a canvas 4 at both ends of a contact part of a dryer roll 2 with a wet web 1, promoting the drying of the wet web by blowing off hot air, on the other hand, arranging high-humidity ducts 9 in an open draw part 7, revolving the dryer roll 2 and leading to a vacuum roll 3 and placing the wet web 1 between the high-humidity ducts 9. Thereby, the drying of the wet web 1 is suppressed to minimize the deviation of shrinkage extent in the central part and the both ends of the paper.
