To improve the finish of drying relating to a drying machine or a washing and drying machine.
In the washing and drying machine, a means for blowing air having air volume and a wind speed for stretching the wrinkles of clothes directly to the clothes housed in a rotary drum is provided in the middle of an air path 29 for circulating the air from an outer tub into the rotary drum; a water-cooled dehumidifying mechanism is provided in the air path on the upstream side of the means for blowing the air; a cooling water supply means 16 for supplying water to the water-cooled dehumidifying mechanism is provided; a control means for controlling a motor, a blowing means, a heating means and the cooling water supply means is provided, and the rotary drum is rotated by the motor to perform a drying operation. The blowing means is capable of controlling the air volume of the air in at least two stages, and the control means executes control so as to start water supply to the water-cooled dehumidifying mechanism from the cooling water supply means when the air volume of the air is small during the drying operation.
