To provide a laundry dryer which can perform an additional drying process immediately after a series of drying process is completed.
A washing and drying machine WM, provided with a containing chamber 10 for containing objects to be dried, drives a compressor 21 and an air blower 47 by a controlling device 40, conducts drying process for the objects to be dried by discharging air which exchanges heat with a heat radiator 22 inside the containing chamber 10 by the air blower 47, and after the drying process is completed conducts a cooling down process by discharging air which exchanges heat with an evaporator 24 into the containing chamber 10 by the air blower 47. The controlling device 40 is equipped with a mechanism for performing an additional drying process after the cooling down process is completed and continues the operation of the compressor 21 for a prescribed standby time after the cooling down process is completed.
