Title:
DRYING OF COAL CHARGED IN COKE OVEN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5981381
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To dry coal charged in a coke oven economically and easily, by drying the coal with heat of the coke oven during its transfer through a coal carrier path provided in bricks at the throat of the coke oven.

CONSTITUTION: Coal 20 is taken from a wet coal vessel 14 by a takeout conveyor 13 and fed through a chute 12 to a coal carrier path 8. The coal 20 is agitated by means of a flight 21 of a chain conveyor 22 in a coal carrier pass 8 maintained at 200W500°C by heat transfer from throat bricks 7 while carrying through the path 8, thus evaporating moisture to be dried. Vapor generated from the coal carrier path 8 is removed through a ventilating duct 11 out of the system to eliminate explosion or any other operating troubles. Dried coal 20 is fed into a dry coal vessel 16 by another bucket conveyor 15 and subjected to charging.
