Abstract:
To provide a dryer which prevents occurrence of abnormality in a recording medium even at an emergency stop of conveyance of the recording medium during drying.SOLUTION: A dryer includes conveying means which conveys a conveyed member, a plurality of heating means which heat the conveyed member, cooling means which is arranged in a position opposite to the heating means with the conveyed member interposed therebetween, and conveyance detection means which detects stop of conveyance of the conveyed member. The conveying means changes a holding position of the conveyed member so as to hold the conveyed member in a position for contacting the conveyed member with the cooling means or a position for separating the conveyed member from the cooling means, and moves to a position for contacting the conveyed member with the cooling means when the conveyance of the conveyed member is stopped.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
