To provide a drying device having excellent handling performance and maintenance performance, preventing generation of waste gas, soot and smoke etc., when operated and reducing noise.

The drying device 10 includes: a cylindrical casing 7 in which a pair of screw conveyors 98 each having a spiral carrying blade 8 arranged on the outer periphery of a tubular shaft body 9 are stored approximately in parallel; a motor 11 serving as a drive means for rotating the screw conveyors 98; and a rotary joint 22 rotatably journaling both ends of the tubular shaft bodies 9 to make steam as a preheated heating medium pass through inside of the tubular shaft bodies 9. A bottom 7b of the cylindrical casing 7 has a shape of an approximately U-shaped groove. A heating tube 14 as a heating means is attached to a lower face of the bottom 7b, and a heat exchanger 15 is attached in the vicinity of the center of the upper face of the cylindrical casing 7. A charger 1 is arranged on the cylindrical casing 7 on the start 98a side of the screw conveyors 98.
