PURPOSE: To downsize a drying part and a device by setting the width side of laundry to the carrying direction in a drying part, and setting the thickness side of the laundry to the carrying direction in a finishing part, and to allow a quick wrinkle smoothing by situating the laundry between a plurality of contact plates.

CONSTITUTION: When a motor 30 is intermittently driven by the pitch space of a hanging tool, a sprocket shaft 25 is rotated through each chain 28A, 28B of a finishing part 2, and a sprocket 33 is also rotated at low speed through a speed reducer 31. Therefore, the sprocket shaft 12 is intermittently rotated, and each chain 16A, 16B of a drying part 1 is driven at the pitch space of a pushing part 42. A hanger 5 on which laundry 4 is hung is suspended on a lower chain guide 41 from a supplying shoot 51 in such a manner that the width side of the laundry 4 forms the carrying direction of each conveyor means 10A, 10B. Thereafter, the hanger 5 is suspended on each conveyor means 20A, 20B from a direction converting shoot 50 in such a manner that the thickness side of the washing matter 5 forms the carrying direction, and wrinkles are smoothed between each contact plate 47.
