To rapidly dry clothings, or the like, by feeding hot air into a drum containing the clothings, or the like, while passing ultrasonic waves through the inside of the drum in order to dry the clothings, or the like, for which a long time is heretofore needed.

The clothings, or the like, desired to be dried are put into the drum 1 and rotation 5 is imparted to the drum 1. While the ultrasonic waves are transmitted from an ultrasonic transmission device 3 into the drum 1, the hot air is fed from a hot air intake 2 into the drum 1. The moisture-laden air is discharged outside the drum 1 from an air discharge port 4. As a result, the hardly moving air among the fibers of the clothings, or the like, is moved and the moisture-laden air among the fibers is easily pushed outside by passing the ultrasonic waves into the drum, by which the drying of the clothings may be expedited.
