Abstract:

To provide a drying method of a thermoplastic norbornene resin for removing a gas component to below a required amount, to provide a substrate for a magnetic recording medium, using the resin dried by this method, to provide the magnetic recording medium using this substrate, and to provide a production method of this medium.

This drying method of the thermoplastic norborane resin, is characterized by removing the gas component contained in this resin to below the required amount, by using a vacuum drying apparatus or by a normal pressure drying with this vacuum drying apparatus. The substrate for the magnetic recording medium is obtained by injection-molding this thermoplastic norbornene resin. The magnetic recording medium, where at least, a magnetic layer, a protection layer and a liquid lubricating layer are formed on the above substrate, and the production method of this medium are provided.
