In a hot wind drying unit 60, when drying a liquid coating layer by heating a sheet medium P by blowing heated gas, the hot wind drying unit 60 includes a plurality of nozzles 63A, 63B, and the temperatures of the gas emitted therefrom are different from each other. Specifically, hot wind is emitted from the downstream-side hot wind blowing nozzle 63A, warm wind is emitted from the upstream-side warm wind blowing nozzle 63B, and the hot wind is contained so that the hot wind does not undeniably diffuse to the surroundings, particularly to an upstream-side printing unit. In other words, the warm wind from the warm wind blowing nozzle 63B functions as an air curtain. Accordingly, any failure is prevented from occurring in a surrounding device when drying the liquid coating layer using the hot wind.
