This dubbing device comprises: a reproducing drive 11 which reproduces a tape recorded by a helical scanning system; a recording drive 13 which records reproduction signals reproduced by the reproducing drive 11; a reproduction envelope evaluation part 16 which evaluates the reproduction conditions of the reproduction signals corresponding to signals recorded in the recording drive 13; and a control part 17 which controls the number of times of dubbing by the recording drive 13 and the parameter of reproduction by the reproducing drive 11 corresponding to the reproduction conditions evaluated by the reproduction envelope evaluation part 16.
