Abstract:

To completely eliminate the generation of a harsh hammering sound while reducing impact load born by an anchor circumference supporting a pair of brake shoes and a connecting member for connecting the both shoes, preventing the braking force of a parking brake from lowering, and improving an operation feeling.

Intermediate portions of pivot levers 50, 51 are rotatably pivoted to intermediate portions of the both brake shoes 20, 21, one adjoining end of the both pivot levers 50, 51 is operationally engaged with a shoe expansion means 40 or 70 and 80, and the other adjoining end is connected by the connecting member 60. When a shoe expansion force is transmitted to the respective brake shoes 20, 21 via the both pivot levers 50, 51, the rotation moment of shoe return springs 11, 12 acting on the both brake shoes 20, 21 is so set that the anchor 46 side is relatively larger than the connecting member 60 side so that the connecting member 60 sides of the both brake shoes 20, 21 are flared relative to the anchor 46 sides of the both brake shoes 20, 21.
