PURPOSE: To obtain a panel material having excellent moisture absorption and desorption properties and suitable for a building material and a furniture material by solidifying dust coal using a paper material as a binder and holding the obtained dust coal material in a panel material.

CONSTITUTION: A dust coal material having excellent moisture absorbing and desorbing properties compared with those of individual dust coal and paper material is produced by mixing 100g of dust coal with 30g of a paper material as a binder and solidifying in a prescribed form. The dust coal material is held in a panel material assembled with a backing material, a frame material and a surface material made of plywood to obtain the objective panel material suitable as a building material such as wall material, ceiling material and floor material or a furniture material such as a cupboard and a cabinet.
