Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust collecting cooling tower capable of intentionally collecting and discharging dust without requiring any mechanical equipment and without a maintenance work of such mechanical equipment.
SOLUTION: This cooling tower is provided with: an outer tower 22 that is a main body of the cooling tower; an evaporation section 23 formed in the upper part of the outer tower 22; a gas introduction section 24 formed in the lower part of the outer tower 22; a tapered hopper section 25 formed at the bottom of the outer tower 22; an inner tower 26 which is placed inside the gas introduction section 24 concentrically with it and has a lower end opening 27 placed at a prescribed height inside the gas introduction section 24; a water spray nozzle 28 placed inside the inner tower 26; an inlet duct 29 tangentially connected to the side of the gas introduction section 24; an outlet duct 30 placed at the top of the evaporation section 23; and a dust discharge port 31 placed at the bottom surface of the hopper section 25 adjacently to the lower end periphery of the hopper section 25.
