To provide a dust-collection system and method in which workers are prevented from inhaling particulate associated with respiration, and operation suspension during the dust collection from a suction device of a vacuum vehicle, etc., is avoided, and the cost for dust collection is reduced further than the conventional art.

The dust-collection system is provided with an air supply device (not shown) for sending fresh air uncontaminated with dust to an air-supply hose, a full-face mask (not shown) for covering the worker's face for shutting out the outside air in the dust-collection site. The system is further provided with a suction hose 12 having a suction port at one end for sucking the dust. The system includes further a holding tank 15 for retaining dust supplied from the hose 12 coupled detachably with the hose 12, a vacuum vehicle 21 for sucking dust in the working site through the hose 12 and the tank 15, further, a coupling hose 18 and a coupling for removably coupling the tank 15 and the vehicle 21.
