PURPOSE: To raise the performance and durability of dust collector by incorporating a vortex flow fan whose air pathway is improved in a dust collector in which impeller is turned by an induction motor to filter air containing dust and to collect the dust.
CONSTITUTION: In a dust collector, an induction motor 1 equipped with an impeller whose driving shaft is provided with plural blades 16a is incorporated, and also air inlets 14 and 21 and clean air outlets 15 and 22 are provided. The motor 1 is operated to turn the impeller 16 and air containing dust is introduced through the air inlets 14 and 21, whereupon the air is swirled by the action of the blades 16a, gradually compressed, filtered by a filter provided inside to remove the dust present, and then discharged from the outlets 15 and 22. A vortex fan, which is capable of producing a higher pressure than a centrifugal fan, can sufficiently treat air sucked from two air inlets 14 and 21 for removal of dust present, and also no trouble with commutator occurs because the motor is of an induction type.
