Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent any dust in waste gas in a smoke collecting duct from being settled out and deposited, the duct extending substantially horizontally and serving to guide waste gas from an electric furnace to a combustion tower.
CONSTITUTION: A smoke collecting duct 30 is constructed separately from other ducts and instruments and is rotatably supported around the axis thereof. The smoke collecting duct 30 is rotated left and right or continuously in one direction. Dust settled by the rotation is lifted to an upper portion where a flow speed is greater and is pushed by waste gas toward the side of a combustion tower 4, so that the dust is prevented from being deposited on the bottom of the smoke collecting duct 30.
