PURPOSE: To remove filth with a duster without using detergent by specifying the single filament fineness filaments of chemical fiber, and the density and height of pile which is made by cutting the filaments, and soaking a fluoride compound having hydrophilic segments in the duster.
CONSTITUTION: A duster is a kind of piled cloth. The duster has such special features that the pile is produced by cutting filaments of chemical fiber having a single filament fineness of 0.3 - 3.2 denier, and has a pile density of 5,000 filaments/cm2 or higher and a pile height H=k×D1/2 or less, where H represents the height of pile, D the fineness (denier) of single filament of chemical fiber and k factor ranging 0.5 - 1.1, and a kind of fluoride compound having hydrophilic segments is soaked in the duster at a ratio of 0.1 - 5wt% to the weight of the duster. The piled duster is produced in such a manner that in case of warp knitting, a piece of fabric woven by a tricot loom having two or more reeds is raised and cut into dusters with pile of a certain height, or a piece of fabric woven by a double raschel loom is raised by cutting the central portions in the direction of fabric thickness.
