Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an aq. dispersion containing a sufficiently large amt. of a dye and suitable for a use in a coating soln. or a recording medium liquid.
CONSTITUTION: (a) At least two kinds of copolymers (A), (B) of (A) a copolymer containing 5-50% by wt. of the total amt. of an ethylenic unsaturated acid in a polymerized state and (B) a copolymer not substantially containing an ethylenic unsaturated acid are produced by soln. polymn. and the soln. polymn. of the copolymer (A) or (B) is performed in the presence of the already produced copolymer (A) or (B); (b) a dye is added before, during or after this soln. polymn.; (c) the formed soln. is dispersed in water; and, if necessary, (d) an org. solvent is removed.
