PURPOSE: To obtain a bright and transparent yellow color picture image without fog and to obtain a copy having good light resistance by using a dye of specified compsn. for a post-dyeing yellow color toner.
CONSTITUTION: The dye for a piece-dyeing yellow color toner is expressed by formula, and the dye is used for the color toner. In formula, X is a sulfur atom or oxygen atom, Ar is a phenyl or naphthyl group which may have substituent. The dye can be produced by a well-known method. As for a dyeing assistant, a nonion or anion dispersant is used. The dispersant to be used to dye the piece-dyeing color toner must be colorless or slightly colored because if the dispersant itself is colored, decoloration is not completely performed although a water-washing process or the like is included.
