Earphone
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP6121982
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
An apparatus comprising: a first acoustic chamber (112) including a reactive element (122) and a resistive element (124) in parallel, a second acoustic chamber (114) separated from the first acoustic chamber by an acoustic transducer (116), a housing to support the apparatus from the concha of a wearer's ear and to extend the second acoustic chamber into the ear canal (12) of the wearer's ear, wherein the housing includes a nozzle (126) extending the second acoustic chamber into the ear canal of the wearer's ear, wherein the nozzle ends in an opening, and a screen damper (118) with a hole (128) in it across the opening, wherein the screen damper with the hole in it provides damping of the higher frequency resonances, though not as much as a screen without a hole, but substantially increases low frequency output.
